Pine essential oil is thought to be a useful hair tonic and is a good air antiseptic (try using it with one of our wide selection of Vaporisers or burners).
By steam distillation of the fir needles.
A fresh resinous aroma.
Anti-viral, bactericidal, disinfectant, deodorant, expectorant, vermifuge.
50-90% monoterpene hydrocarbons: pinene, carene, dipentene, limonene, terpinenes, myrcene, ocimene, camphene, sabinene also bornyl acetate, cineol, citral, chamazulene, among others.
Used by native Americans to prevent scurvy and to stuff matresses to repel lice and fleas and as a steam inhallation to relieve bronchial catarrh, asthma, blocked sinuses, etc.
Dilute in a carrier oil before skin application. Keep away from children and out of eyes. Do not take internally or apply undiluted to the skin. For further advice on using essential oils to treat medical conditions, we recommend you seek advice from a professional.
