'The oil has a hot stimulating effect. It dilates local blood vessels making it very useful for aches and pains and as an aid for digestion' - an excerpt from Aromatherapy A Guide For Home Use by Christine Westwood.

'Black Pepper is analgesic and antispasmodic. It is recommended for aches and pains, rheumatism arthritis and temporary paralysis. The aroma is sharp and spicy.' - an excerpt from The Essential Blending Guide by Rosemary Caddy.

'The main use to which I put Black Pepper is in massage blends for muscular pains, stiffness and fatigue, but it is important to keep the proportion of Black Pepper in a blend very low, as it is possible to produce local irritation by overdoing it.' - an excerpt from Aromatherapy an A - Z by Patricia Davis.
