The volatile oil obtained by steam distillation of the flowering plants.	Has rich, warm, earthy scent with overtones of fruit.

General Description

Marigold Tagetes Essential Oil. Fungicidal, bactericidal, anti-fungal on feet. Good as a housefly and white fly deterrent. Contains a high percentage of ketones.

Historial Background

In China the flowers of the African Marigold are used for whooping cough, colds, colic, mumps, sore eyes and mastitis

Fungicidal, bactericidal, anti-fungal on feet.

Constituents/Active Ingredients

Tagetones, with ocimene, myrcene, linalol, limonene, pinenes, carvone, citral, camphene, valeric acid, salicylaldehyde among others.

Safety

DILUTE TO 5% OR LESS IN A CARRIER OIL BEFORE SKIN APPLICATION. KEEP OUT OF EYES. DO NOT SWALLOW.

Tagetes is often confused with English Marigold or calendula. Calendula does not exist as an essential oil... but is mostly found as an infused oil which is very safe....Tagetes on the other hand contains a high proportion of ketones quoted from Aromatherapy an A - Z by Patricia Davis.
